MOSAIC Making Opportunities for Students to Appreciate Inclusiveness
Mission | Contact Information | News & Events

MOSAIC's objectives:

  • To build student "community" at JCCC and extend that community to other metropolitan area colleges.
  • To end "isms", including racism, sexism, anti-gay prejudice, and intolerance.
  • To provide opportunities for students to engage in dialogue about intolerance and hate in a non-threatening and respectful environment.
  • To learn about "others," to understand diverse perspectives, to develop the ability to be more inclusive of diverse others.
  • To eliminate prejudice and prevent hate on the Johnson County Community College campus.
  • To carry MOSAIC experiences to our personal social circles to encourage inclusiveness throughout the greater community.
  • To develop student community with other community colleges so that understanding others, developing inclusiveness, eliminating prejudice, and preventing hate become part of the lives of students throughout the Kansas City area.
  • To provide MOSAIC meeting and dialogue information through the KCREACHE
program to on-line students throughout Kansas City.
